Dr Belinda Niessl
Strings Teacher - Violin, Cello and Viola

Belinda began learning the violin when she was five years old.  She is passionate about music and has instilled this same enthusiasm in her four school aged children, all of whom play string instruments.  Believing that the joy of music greatly enriches a student's upbringing and overall well-being, Belinda has dedicated herself to teaching strings over the past ten years.  She sees her role as supporting students as they develop and sustain their musical skills and understanding.  Belinda also holds a PhD in Classics from the ANU. 

Along with her husband and family, Belinda is an active member of Mitchelton Presbyterian Church.  

Darlene Ferguson
Woodwind Teacher - Clarinet and Saxophone

Hailing from a musical heritage, Darlene quickly became a multi-instrumentalist across woodwind, brass, strings and percussion. Her musical family has continued to expand with her five adult children now performing state-wide in a family band aptly called The Fergies.

Darlene studied at the Royal College of Music in the United Kingdom and has been teaching instrumental music privately for over 12 years, taking pride in each instrument and its potential for the student. 

Debbie Bradford
Piano and Vocal Teacher

Debbie has had a rich musical experience; graduating from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Jazz Piano, teaching music for over 35 years, running two theatre companies (Brisbane Junior Theater and Brisbane Muscial Theatre) and has also been the Music Director for over 50 musicals.

Debbie sings faithfully in church and enjoys directing, singing and playing both jazz and gospel music.
She also loves her two dogs, performing gigs with her son and cooking food from around the world.

Leanne Rogers
Piano Teacher

After Leanne completed her Bachelor of Education (Music) at Melbourne State College, she dabbled in teaching high school music before starting her own private tuition business.

Equipped with her music education, a TESOL certificate 4 and her passion for asylum seekers, Leanne has begun spending her free time teaching English and music to refugees that have recently arrived in the community, as well as refugee camps around the world.

Leanne has a husband and two adult children (Northside Christian College alumni).

Nathan Gatenby
Percussion and Drum Kit Tutor

Nathan has quickly found accolades in the musical community, winning both the 2017 Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Snare Drum Award and the Jim Massie Brisbane Club Memorial Prize. 

With his passion for orchestral and chamber performance Nathan has performed both Australia-wide and internationally, with ensembles such as the Queensland Youth Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia and Queensland Ballet. This year Nathan is taking part in a performance mentorship with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Nathan worships and serves at Ann St Presbyterian Church, where he makes the most of its CBD location by exploring new places afterwards.

Peter Howlett
Guitar Teacher - Guitar and Bass Guitar

For Peter, music has been a lifelong passion. With a total of 26 years of teaching, he has been able to share his knowledge and love of music in over 150,000 lessons, including many students who went on to successful careers in music. Peter houses his large curriculum of teaching material and courses on his website (and on YouTube).

As the music director of his local church, Peter loves being able to use these gifts to worship and express his faith in Jesus.

Rowan Yates
Brass Teacher - Euphonium, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba and French Horn

Rowan has been playing for 19 years, and teaching for 7. After completing his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium he has recorded on albums, performed in movie soundtracks and toured internationally. 

Rowan attends at St Andrews Anglican Church and enjoys serving at Sunday School.

Leanne Sharp

Piano Teacher

Leanne learnt piano from her mother at a very young age, who inspired her love for music. She has completed her ATCL via Private Tuition, and has gone on to enjoy a 25 year teaching career. 

Leanne also won the QLD Open Womens 100 metre sprints in the 1980's multiple times, managing to juggle athletic training, piano practice and full time work.
