Sports Celebration 2020

The 2020 sport awards will be presented at a special Sports Celebration event being held on Thursday, 8 October (during PM and lunch time). We are excited to have two-time Olympian, humanitarian and philanthropist Eloise Wellings as our special guest for this event (presenting via video).

Eloise’s inspiring story is one of grit, determination, passion and seeing God at work through life’s difficulties. Having qualified for three consecutive Olympic Games, and missing the chance to compete at each one due to injury, Eloise went on to achieve her Olympic dream, having now represented Australia at two Olympic games (and in training for her third), four Commonwealth Games and achieving Australia’s best ever Olympic result in the women’s 10,000m event at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Her running journey led her to Uganda where she founded the Love Mercy Foundation and has since impacted over 100,000 Ugandans through health, education and agriculture programs.

“I feel like I’m on a mission to use every step that I take in running to bring glory to God and shed light on what He is doing in Uganda.” (Eloise Wellings, Source: Hillsong)

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions parents are not able to attend the Sports Celebration in person, and instead the event will be made available online.
