Our first Alumni event of the year, the Excelsior Awards evening, took place on Thursday, February 15. Alumni from the class of 2023, along with awardees and their families, commenced the evening with a delightful gathering featuring appetizers, delectable hors d'oeuvres, and some lighthearted humour regarding hairstyles (or lack thereof). The purpose of this event was to announce and congratulate the Dux, Natasha Bartels and Dux Proxime Accessit, Mariam Mettyas for 2023, as well as to recognise students who achieved an ATAR result of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10% in Queensland. The evening was enhanced with entertainment and serenades by Mark, Sam and Jude from Year 11 and Anna, Year 12, singing a beautiful rendition of 'Somewhere' from Westside Story. The current Captains and Vice Captains participated and it was a joyous occasion to reunite with the class of 2023 and celebrate their remarkable academic accomplishments.
