School Counsellor Position

Part-time (Term time)

An opportunity has become available for an accredited and experienced school counsellor to join Northside Christian College - a Prep to Year 12 College located in Everton Park in Brisbane's inner north. The successful applicant will work within a supportive team in an outstanding Christian College committed to inspiring and developing students’ spiritual, academic, emotional and social potential.

The Counsellor works predominately with students who require a higher level of support and intervention and assists in personal counselling, and provides guidance and mentoring to teachers to enhance their understanding of student wellbeing issues.  

The role is a part-time, term-time position.    

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Professional qualifications in Psychology enabling professional registration.
  • Understanding of the wellbeing needs of students as these relate to the learning and personal growth outcomes for students.
  • The ability to develop positive, professional relationships with staff.
  • Expertise in identification, formulation and counselling of students.
  • Ability to provide psycho-education about adolescent mental health to teaching staff.
  • Ability to identify appropriate external professionals for students requiring support outside the services of the specialist staff at the College.
  • Ability to collaborate with educators in formulating support programs for students.
  • Willingness to collaborate effectively with a broad range of key academic and wellbeing staff to enhance student outcomes.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and professional currency.
  • Professionalism and discretion at all times in relation to confidential matters
  • Flexibility and commitment to the provision of a high-standard of professional care.

Middle School Secretary

Full-time permanent

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Secretary to join our Middle School at Northside Christian College - a Prep to Year 12 College located in the northern Brisbane suburb of Everton Park. The successful applicant will join an outstanding Christian College committed to inspiring and developing students’ spiritual, academic, emotional and social potential.

The secretary provides efficient administrative support to the Head of Middle School, teachers, parents, students and staff.  This is a full time role - 8.00am to 4.00 pm with four weeks holiday per year.  To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant reception based experience coupled with outstanding people skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills. Database experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate a Christian World View

People and Culture Manager

Northside Christian College, located in the inner Northern Brisbane suburb of Everton Park, is seeking expressions of interest for a People and Culture Manager. This is an opportunity to work as part of a friendly, highly professional and caring team supporting the College leadership and staff.

As a trusted point of connection in the College, the Manager is required to effectively build the people and culture capability of the College; lead and manage human resources functions; support and contribute to broader organisational and strategic management; and foster the Mission of the College.

 Key responsibilities include

· Develop and execute Northside’s People and Culture strategy and policies
· Develop innovative methods and processes relating to recruitment, selection and on-boarding which are aligned to the strategic objectives and culture of the College.
· Provide support to employees on human resources enquiries
· Support and build a culture of excellence across the organisation including the development of the Performance Review and Development framework.

In the role of Teacher Aide you will be working as part of a friendly dedicated team supporting the learning of our students.  The position requires you to have excellent communication skills, be organised and have a heart for supporting students with diverse needs.

You will be required to:

· Quickly establish a warm rapport with students
· Participate in regular documentation and feedback sessions
· Support teachers by helping to develop resources, deliver quality one-on-one and group learning experiences and model inclusive language and behaviours
· Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to work as part of team
· Develop understanding of individual students needs and adhere to
· Work with a range of students to extend, consolidate and enrich their learning

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bus Drivers Licence – Minimum required LR (Light Rigid), however, MR (Medium Rigid) is preferred
  • Suitable Drivers Authorisation Card (or willingness to apply)
