This term Year 9 Science Extension students have been investigating forensic science. As part of their assessment the Year 9s created forensic crime scenes for Mr Mann’s Year 6 class to solve. The crimes to solve included: testing the macromolecules in stomach contents to identify which food truck poisoned the victim, lifting a fingerprint from the glass case housing the crown jewels via latent fingerprint fuming, and solving a bank robbery by testing a handwritten note via paper chromatography. Students from both Junior and Middle Schools thoroughly enjoyed engaging in many science experiments.
