Take a look at Creativity in Action in the Home Economics area this Term. Students refined their skills in hands-on textiles workshops. The Year 10s made origami pouches and appliqued swing tags while the Year 11s and 12s learnt the Japanese art of Shibori and Sashiko and how to quilt as you go. The students produced wonderful Indigenous inspired table runners and beautiful indigo dyed silk scarves. These items were created as wonderful gifts for Mother’s Day, but the question needs to be asked: how could they part with their beautiful creations? Who thought learning could be so much FUN!
