Northsiders in National Grand Finals
Over the past few weeks, Olivia R (Yr 11) and Joshua W (Rr 12) have been competing in The Evatt Diplomacy Trophy Competition held by United Nations Youth Australia.
This competition seeks to educate students about Australia’s global political place in the world. The competition is designed for students who are passionate about diplomacy, law, and international relations.
The Northside team successfully progressed through two preliminary debates, concluding on Saturday 25th August at Parliament House for the State Grand Finals.
The Northside team competed against the top 15 school competitors within Queensland. At the conclusion of a lengthy day of diplomatic and political debate, the Northside Team won their place in the top two schools.
In December of this year, Olivia and Joshua will compete in Hobart at the National Finals Competition representing the school and Queensland.
We congratulate Olivia on receiving the award for Best Negotiator and we congratulate Joshua and Olivia on making into the National Grand Finals!
