Week 2 of this term in Design Food and Fibre saw a lot of fun for our year 10 students! With two subjects and two incursions there surely was a creative buzz throughout our department.

The Year 10 DFF students have been studying a Sustainable Textile Unit. In this Unit students have the opportunity to learn how to employ sustainable practices in textile design & production.

At their all-day incursion the students repurposed preloved denim jeans into funky embellished pencil cases. The students explored cultural arts like Shibori, Sashiko, Boro work, Applique, etc. They embraced their creativeness and individuality to uniquely design their pencil cases.
