On Anzac Day Vivace Voices were privileged to sing at the dawn service for Unit 2 CER (Combat Engineer Regiment) at Gallipoli Barracks. Under the direction of Adele King and accompanied by Chris George they beautifully performed “Lest We Forget”, composed and arranged by Northside staff Jason Boyce, Bronwyn Mallins and Ming Ting.

In the lead up to this special event the choir also performed at the Junior School Anzac assembly, after which the whole Junior School were visited by members of the unit for a demonstration of the Catafalque Party. Special thanks to college parent, and Regiment Chaplain, Padre Marcaus Muller for providing this opportunity.

Middle and Senior school students commemorated Anzac Day in a service of remembrance on the 24 April. Chaplain of the Gallipoli Army Barracks at Enoggera, Marcaus Muller, addressed the students.

He reminded them of the original Anzac Day at Gallipoli and the traits that were demonstrated throughout that campaign which now embody the Australian spirit - mateship, courage, initiative and respect. He also spoke about the many conflicts and peacekeeping projects the Australian military have continued to be involved in throughout the world since the original Anzac landing at Gallipoli.

As the Northside school community, we are thankful for the sacrifices, both past and present, of our military personnel.
