Great Results at NWD Athletics

Just over 100 secondary students formed Northside’s athletics team, which competed at the North West District Athletics Carnival held recently at the UQ Athletics Centre. An awesome team spirit prevailed during the two days of competition. This, along with some stand-out individual performances, saw Northside finish 1st in the Percentage Trophy and 5th overall. Congratulations to Genevieve Giavon (12 years girls) and Josephine Giavon (17 years girls), who were District Age Champions. Best wishes to the 45 students who have progressed to the Met North Track and Field Championships being held next week.

BCS Netball

Congratulations to the Middle School Netball teams who represented the College in the Brisbane Christian School tournament. The Grade 9 team finished second and the Grade 7/8 team finished third in the Middle School competition. This is an outstanding effort considering they were playing some large Netball schools. Well done girls!

Queensland Tennis

Our Senior Boys Tennis Team had some great results at the Queensland Schools Team Tennis Challenge earlier this term. All boys played well against very competitive and well-trained teams, resulting in some extremely close matches. As usual, students’ sportsmanship was a highlight.

State Futsal Titles

After an outstanding performance in the Regional Futsal Titles, our U16 Boys Futsal team competed in the Southern Queensland Champion of Champions on 28 July. It was a tremendous effort to progress so far in this competition, and our boys performed well against extremely tough competition.
