Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island and UNESCO World Heritage-listed site became the backdrop of the Year 12 Camp. Keen students reveled in resort living, celebrating their schooling journey, enjoying each other’s company, developing leadership skills and marveling at God’s creation. The 4WD bus tour of the island was a highlight, as students enjoyed the pristine waters of Lake McKenzie and floated down the chilly Eli Creek. A beach bonfire allowed marveling at the Milky Way over toasted marshmallows and the Semi-Formal dinner proved a great occasion to dress up and be treated to a delicious meal. Form classes vigorously challenged each other in the “Class of Origin” and the annual Form Class Song Competition. A great time was had by all and we were frequently complimented on the behaviour of our students. Although we grappled with some illness, students returned home with wry smiles beneath their masks.
